How many have used the All Metal Motion Mode? I ..

used it today for the first time and I like it. You get rid of most all the snap, crackle, pop, and get the bonus of getting a little deeper as well. If I weren't getting an accurate number reading, I wouldn't use it, but the numbers do work in that mode. I had the sens @ 85-90, threshold at 0 and audio tones up to 9, GB at 63. The more I use this machine, the more I like it. As for the reports and reviews by people who say it sucks, well, I can't believe they were using it in the proper combination of modes. Oh, I did find a 1952D dime at about five inches, rang out loud and clear in the all metal and disc mode. ( I switched back and forth to see which gave the best signal)

I use it more and more. In my test garden it hits the deep coins (8" cents and 12" quarters flat and on edge) in almost all conditions. I have been using it when coin shooting and the TID still allows the trash to be avoided. Have yet to find my first silver, but I am finding '65 and '66 dimes deeper than the 7" blade of my Lesche and it is only a matter of time. Same with nickels. It hits them very well in All Metal. I'm hoping to hit an old home site either this weekend or next for a first test on a good site.

I'm not as good at pinpointing in the All Metal mode; and I haven't figured out why yet. I seem to miss a bit forward of the target.

Wish I had some interesting relics to report, but a few old tools, cartridge cases and washers don't make for good press.

Quieter in that when it beeps there is a piece of metal under the coil. In certain soils or near EMI sources it can run quieter. It does in my front yard (where my test garden is). I have the power/utility/telephone lines 30 feet away and am apparantly in line of a microwave beam or something (two wireless phones in the house nearby may also contribute??). I can't get discrimination sensitivity up over 50 even in default mode with disc below 18. Forget Jewelry (my discription was "R2D2 falling down a flight of stairs"). At the park or in the woods I can take the sensitivity to 90 in default; up to 75 or more in Jewelry. In All Metal I can crank it up at home and hit my deepest test targets (12" quarters and 8" cents). I intend to make a "remote" test garden well away from the house and road.

So, in some cases, All Metal is quieter.

You do hear a constant threshold sound, which is adjustable, when in clean ground, and when I go over metal, you get more of a soft buzz, or zip sound, compared to the cracks, pops, and snaps, when being in Disc mode. It is not perfect, but a nice break from the chatter that is normally found in Disc. I feel another advantage for sure is that you can pick out individual sounds if there is a lot of targets. You can "feel" your way through the target field, and find what is good and what is junk or iron by looking at the tid numbers. I hope I am describing this correctly as I have only had the f75 for a couple weeks now. I also think that it will get a couple inches deeper than the Disc mode set at high sensitivity. On my machine, the numbers start to fall as the target gets deeper ( starting about 7 inches). So, if I get a repeatable signal in both direction and the meter shows say ten inches, I will dig if the numbers bounce from 70s down to lower 50s. So far I haven't dug anything good that deep, has been iron or nails, or aluminum, but I hope to soon. I would also say that the depth meter is off, especially with shallow targets, and I have to subtract a couple inches when I get over six inches. Hope that helps.
