How many have had a haunted detector and sent it in to the factory for an exorcism??

For many years we have known that we have spooks in our house and now they are playing with my detectors. My 1500 has been standing in the corner in. my bedroom for months. Last night it woke me up beeping away. I got up, investigated, it had been turned on, and I turned it off and went back to bed. In a few minutes it turned itself on again and started beeping. After getting up and turning it off several times I finally removed a battery pack and shut it up. Anyone ever had this happen? How could it turn itself on over and over.? All comments appreciated.

Bill

What were those pain meds you've been taking?
Seriously it may be that your battery pack has gotten very low (yes even just sitting) and the low volts are playing with the processor
Had similar (strange) things in my TV service days so why not
Or maybe it just wanting to get out sweeping
Good Luck

By the way guys if you see a 1500 on the classifieds be careful!

Take it out for a walk Bill, its try to tell you something. Don't take it in the water... it's not...

Hey Uncle Willy------We had a guy over there on the Explorer forum that had a detector (Explorer) that was doing that--it's been 2 or 3 yrs. ago.----We had a lot of fun with the guy--think we about drove him nuts before it was over with.----He said the thing would turn itself on during the middle of the night in the bedroom (scared his wife half to death).----Would turn itself on every night or two or not do it for maybe a week.-----I had an Explorer once that kept turning itself on in the motor home as we were travelling down the road----then when I WOULD try to fire it up the blame thing wouldn't turn on.----Work with it long enough & it would come on for awhile.----I ended up sending it in & they changed out the whole control box unit---problem solved! :) --------Del
