Hi everyone, Just wondering how many people carry insurance on there metal detectors? I have my e-trac insured on my home owners policy against theft and accidental damage. I believe it cost $24.00/year. I think it is well worth it.

Good idea!..never thought about it...especially where a fellow might live and all...that said, these are desperate times...no place is safe, I am sure every one of us has had something stolen, or will sooner or later...
By gosh that would be tough! To have a detector stolen right in the peak season!...just one less thing to worry about I suppose:thumbup:.

Ok, after posting this I actually called my insurance company to have my Tesoro tiger shark added to my policy and I double checked on my e-trac and found out it is only $8.00/year. That is $1500.00 worth of coverage. They have to check on the rate for my Tiger shark and call me back.

Interesting. Not a bad idea.

I keep my detector in the gun safe when I'm not using it. When I AM using it I am also carrying my 1911. :detecting:
Yeah, me too when in remote areas! I carry a .357 mag Colt Trooper, my 1911 is not all that reliable.

Great idea!
Hunting alone i carry my Sig 9mm with shoulder holster. It doest get in the way when i crouch down to retrieve.

Carrying a weapon is great for preventing theft but does not help with accidental damage like dropping or falling off a tailgate etc.

When I had my cell phone on my homeowners, my agent told me a claim for the phone would count against the "3 claims in 3 years" policy.
Just a heads up.

Your regular Homeowners theft coverage would cover it for no additional premium. It would, of course be subject to your Deductible for theft losses, if any.
