I have heard some say the gb eats batteries....
So here is my question,,,how many batteries have you gone through so far ??
I have been on 21 hunts so far and that does not count turning on the machine in the house or having accidentally turned it on when I put it down on the stand next to me bed.
I had (2) three packs of which I think just one battery was already gone..
I now have 2 batteries left so I figure the detector came with 1 and I have used 3 others already..
So 4 batteries down in 21 hunts. Each hunt has been between 2-4 hours at least. I usually get between 9-10 am and will make it home by 1:30-2:00 pm. I use a bicycle for transportation to cover the 1 mile route to the park. I take the time to break down my detector and strap it across my handle bars. I figure I have hunted approximately 3.5*21=73.5 hours. Divide that by 4 and I get 18.375 hours per battery.
I have recovered $116 in just clad in that time so 116/4= $29 found for each battery.
This is a fairly rough calculation but I do not see any problem yet with the number of finds vs the cost of batteries. I have not figured the value in pennies or jewelery into the mix here.
