General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

I bought a Tesoro Deleon off of another forum member on October 18th. 4 weeks later I still don't have it. I've asked 5 times for a tracking number and he won't give it to me. Always an excuse and a sob story. First Purolator lost it (but sometimes he referred to them as UPS). Then the post office screwed up. He was going to go see it loaded on the truck personally. Now 2 weeks later and I still don't have it.

I think I've been conned. Fortunately I used Paypal so I believe I have recourse. I'm going to give him one last chance to either give me a tracking number or I file my dispute tonight.

Anyone else ever have a package take 4 weeks? This isn't international.
 
Dan-----This is ridiculous & you have been "beyond" patient with this guy.---Let us know who this forum member is so the rest of us can avoid him in the future.
 
I agree with Del, I think you are being taken for a ride.
 
Just to be clear, this attempt at buying a Deleon was not from this forum.

It sucks for a number of reasons, obviously, losing $300 being one of them. But I'm more upset at not having the opportunity to use the Deleon. It's one of the few current production Tesoros that I haven't used. I think it's overpriced for what you get if you buy it new, but at $300 it was going to be worth it to try.

I would file a complaint with Paypal right now!............There are really on the buyers side....so I think you will be ok....Just have to wait a month or so to get your money back......take it easy!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I gave the seller one last chance to give me a tracking number. No response. I started my PayPal dispute this morning.
 
Dan------Let us know how this turns out.-----I feel for you man, I know it is SO frustrating (not to mention downright rotten & ill-legal).
 
I have bought and sold a couple of items on this forum, but luckily, I have never had any issues.
I just bought a detector from berryman last week and I am on the east coast and he is on the west coast.
I mailed the PO money order on Tuesday, he mailed the detector on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday.
Too bad that all deals don't go as smooth as this one.
Never dealt with the man before this and there was mutual trust between us and a great transaction..
Also, the detector was in great condition just like he stated.
Sorry to hear you have apparently dealt with a bad apple... hopefully you will get it resolved soon.

Well, today is "D-day"! One of 3 things will happen today:

1) The Deleon will arrive after a 30 day wait
2) The seller will supply me with a tracking number
3) My Paypal dispute will be escalated to a claim.

I would love it to be number 1, but I'm expecting it to be number 3.
 
Sorry to hear about this Dan, it is bad when a person scams another person and even worse when they do it to to a forum member (no matter what forum) where most of us are like family. Hope things work out for you.
 
He's blaming the post office for screwing up. He says they are blaming him for not doing something right. He offered me a refund so I jumped on that offer. Let's see if I get it.
 
UPS, Something called Purolator ??, and now the post office ?? Killing time my friend ... you better make the claim , or your going to be out the money...

Sometimes as much as we hate to admit it.." We have been snookered". I know I was.... Thanks to UPS I was able to get my detector back before it was delivered. Had I waited another minute it would have been delivered to a fake address for that person.

Just one more thing Dan..UPS, Post Office, or any other company is not going to let me/you inside their loading facility to see it get on the truck.. stalling tactic Dan.....

My understand is that you only have 30 days from the date of transaction to file the claim with Paypal. He is just killing time so that you have absolutely no recourse.
 
You have to file the dispute within 45 days of the purchase. You then have 20 days to raise that to a claim. If you don't raise it to a claim within those 20 days then you are outta luck.

I filed my dispute at 30 days so I'm good. But I agree, it's all a stalling tactic. He has until tonight to refund my money willingly or it will become a claim.
 
hope it all works out for you dan... I did have one deal that got a little screwy.. but it was because the guy I was buying from claimed to not have received the postal money order I had sent him...so I didn't know what to believe but every time I checked on line the money order had not been cashed... finally after like 3 or 4 weeks he said he got the money order and the rest of the deal went thru no sweat.... fortunately the seller was understanding as I even offered to cancel the deal so I wouldn't hold him up selling .... that deal was for a 30 dollar pair of headphones ... unfortunately you have 10 times that invested and It sounds pretty shady from where I sit even to a gaulable sap like myself... good luck...
 
The seller refunded my money. It's pending while Paypal reviews it so it's not in my pocket quite yet, but it's hopeful.
