HOW IS THE AT PRO ON TARGET SEPERATION?

Woodchuck

New member
How good is AT PRO on target seperation such as coins among trash? and reading multiple targets?

It is awesome on seperation had an area that i went to that is full of pull tabs i was able to seperate the two targets and dug the good one.Dug the other target beside it just to see how far apart they were it was about an inch and it was a pull tab also an rusty wire just below it.Which i had my iron set at 40 did'nt hear the iron.

I think the seperation is pretty darn good. It dooes not mean you don't have rotate around a target to get the best signal. I do this sometimes because there is alot in the ground. I believe the sniper coil is going to be perfect for park hunting.

Hmmm! I might be saying bye bye to my GBPro quicker than I thought and hello to AT Pro.

it will find a coin under a nail :detecting:
& really finds the goodies in trashy areas

Separation is great.

I attribute finding 2 different wheats, that my E-Trac didn't do so well on, from great separation. Both wheats hit on the E-Trac but from only one direction and a bit broken. The AT PRO hit from all sides.

there is not a better detector made for this task.

With a statement like that, you must not have seen what the Xp Deus is capable of doing.

Still i must say, that what the AT pro selling price is, it is doing a very good job in the separation department...Well done Garrett for bringing something that can compete with the big boys at a price that will not cost an arm and a leg.

Getting closer and closer to buying the AT,but love the gti1500.The wife ain't gunna b a happy bunny with two detectors in the house.

Southwind,
That E Trac seems to be giving you fit's .....It seems like when I see you posting on the AT Pro , it's always doing something better than the E Trac ..... Since that E Trac is not doing so well for you , I figured I would take that old run down machine off your hands for a fair price ..... Let me know when you get tired of it !!.....Thanks, Jim

As good as any thing I have used. Have dug quite a few relics in with nails in the same hole. It will let you know there is a good target there. Had a Etrac too sold it a while back.

Im not a relic hunter but youve already got one of the best(for the money) for seperation with GB but 5" coil just clenches it. Great Iron descrimination and super recoverery time. The larger the coil the harder it becomes. DD's and eliptical seem to work for me. Concentrics seem to be the more difficult from 7" and up. IMHO. Mostly it can be the skill of the person using it. Hard to get to know machines abilities in 2 weeks. Can you say learning curve? Slaw can give silver TID buried in iron but its the audio that can save alot of digging. Knowing machine can make the difference no matter what MD your swinging. I can seperate finds as well with 11DD eliptical now that Ive come to know MD and descrimination that works in iron. This is my findings when looking for coins which is about all I do. Sniper coils on most machines(4or5") adds seperation with a machine with desent speed.

You couldn't be more wrong Jim. I compare the other detectors to the E-Trac because the E-Trac, in my opinion, is still the one to be compared with. The E-Trac does one thing very well and that is telling the user when a deep coin, especially silver, is there. Other than that, the truth is the E-Trac is pretty average in ability for a high-end detector.
