How is the 600 on wet sand

I just sold some detectors and was thinking of the 600.
I see some used ones but for another $100 you can get a new one bundled.
All the videos I see show the 600 and 800 are pretty close with just a couple more bells and whistles on the 800.
I have a lot of beach that I will have access to because of my boat and was wondering what it would be like on wet sand.
thanks
David

My understanding is the 600 and 800 are pretty similar in the pre-programmed modes. My son has the 800 and I have the 600 and we hunt 90% of the time on saltwater beaches. I have seen no difference in the Beach 1 or Beach 2 modes on each model. You can see our success after 5 months of wet sand beach hunting.

Didn’t you find any chains during the 5 month period or did you just not include them in the photo, if you did what did they Id at and how big were they? Was wondering because I’ve heard the nox is great on chains.

The EQX is better on chains. I dont know of any detector that is great on them, except maybe a dedicated prospecting detector. When you get into wet salt conditions every machine suffers some lowered abilities.

Dont drink that kool aid. It does better id say than most of the SALT water machines on chains...... but we are still missing small gold and chains..... especially in the water with beach 2. I have 4 or 5 now....... mostly large that both the Xcal and CTX will hit on..... but not as well at the Nox in beach 1.

I think both are very good in wet sand. I have a 600 and the best thing about it is i can go from dry sand to wet sand with no changes, i use Beach 1 most of the time with no different adjustments, and as for gold chains, the closest i have come is a 14k bracelet that was in wet sand about 6" down and came up as a 4 on my 600. I have used other detectors in the wet and the Nox is be far better as for being quiet and very deep.

In beach mode 2 has less power to coil for in water hunting less falsing..I know a friend has stated "its the best gold machine I've ever used"
and he hunts up 10 on a beach a boy does he find gold!

Yes we have found lots of other stuff, chains, ear rings, pendants and coins......found enough change to pay for 50% of the 600. I just like rings so that is why the picture, two real diamond and 14K gold rings so far.
