How is everyone liking the new Surfmaster PI Dual Frequency??

I would like to hear everyones opinion that owns a Whites Surfmaster PI Dual Frequency. Does it go deeper than the old Surfmaster PI? Is it very hard to use? Is it more sensitive in finding the deeper objects? I am thinking about purchasing one but would like to hear more feedback about this machine. Thanks alot!!

I have heard that they do detect a bit deeper and it is a larger spiders web coil at 12" or 12 .5 " ? but they have not as yet produced a model with the divers coil, ? only a beach coil, that may tend float ????????? :wiggle:
Many hunters did have an issue in the past with the older Surfmaster and had to fit a " pre load kit " onto their ( beach ) coils to reduce buoyancy .
My Surfmaster friends swear by the Surfmaster Divers coil and are awaiting the release of the same before upgrading to the Dual Field model , " come on you :whites: "

perhaps that will come in the future
Happy hunting :twodetecting:

To make the loop heavy is easy. I did. Heavy loop is also better when you need to fight with idiots. Ditto big water scoop. One idiot recently needed four stiches. He does not go closer to me than fifty feet now. :stretcher:

It's not a question of going deeper and you really can't compare it to the Surf PI or PI Pro because they are all three very different machines. I've owned all three andthere are advantages and disadvantages to each. My advice is to get one and form your own opinion. Good Luck!

Depth is very good, pinpointing is also very good, floating coil is a minor annoyance but I'm working that minor problem out. Excellent value for dollar in my opinion and a very complimentary detector to my Excal. PI's are still new territory for me so I can say that the transition from Excal to DF has been pretty effortless.

Cheers,

buoyant coil. I have noticed it is very easy to swing in the water. I just got back from a 4 hour hunt, the last 3 hours in the water, and when I hit the wet sand the coil and shaft felt noticeably heavier. I tether the shaft to my belt, so the only issue is pressing the coil back down in the water, which is a minor annoyance with the straight shaft set up.

I've been out twice with mine. Fresh water. I like it fine and snorkeling and diving with the non weighted coil isn't a problem. Not sure how much deeper it will go than the Pro. The Pro goes pretty damn deep. I think maybe an inch or two-which is enough.
