How I spent my Saturday......

<center>
The day started early....about 5:30 the Fire Dept. calls and tells me one of my building is on fire. I rush to work and as I'm coming into town the smoke is thick as fog. When I come over the hill to my mill fire trucks are lining the street. My main building which is 100x100 with an attached 50x100 building is pouring black smoke out of every opening there is available. I tell myself everything is gone. When I get down to the firemen, one of my friend who is the Captain says it appears to be in the corner around some equipment. We are in the process of installing some new equipment but the electrician's haven't hooked power to it yet. I'm wondering what could have happened. About that time a guy with a oxygen pack and mask comes out and says its my Man-lift and they've put it out. Turns out the the man lift must of had a short and caused the wiring to ignite. Then it burned a hydraulic hose into and that poured fluid on the tire and then that caught fire. I have a strict policy on house keeping and there is nothing for the fire to spread to. They set-up fans to blow out the smoke. I lost my man lift but nothing else...thank goodness the rest is just smoke damage. Could have been a lot worse. Here's some pictures....

The sawdust on the floor is to absorb the water and hydraulic fluid

When I got home Vicki was a total wreck but we both realize someone was watching over us. :thumbup: The company that installed our Security system put in smoke detectors-they obviously didn't work along with the entry alarm when the Firemen opened the door. I'll have a talk Monday with them. Vicki reminded me that it was our 17th Wedding Anniversity and we both agreed we got a great present in still having our livelihood. :thumbup:

After everything calmed down...Cory and I headed down to Auburn for the Iron Bowl. It was a great game for us and another year of bragging rights. Then I get up this morning and was reading the paper and I made the paper!!!!! Check it out.

Thanks for lookin' ya'll :wave: and remember to check YOUR smoke detectors. :)

it started. That was a really scary story about your business fire. It's so easy to overlook one tiny detail at the business or at home that can start a fire. Particularly this time of year with Christmas decorations.

I'm thankful this Thansgiving for alot of things, including your business and employees being safe from the macinery blaze.

I sell security systems so if you need som advice or anything just send me a message.
