'' I KNOW I KNOW '' There are people who do not like to use a shovel, but if it's a mini shovel, and you are not on lets say a ball field or other restricted areas it can really save your back. i did not want to get one but my 47 year old knees are kind of beat up. besides the thing ways about next to nothing and it measures 26 1/2 '' inches long and the spaid end is only 8'' By 6'' inches, it's really nice. it's a black & decker and the price was $9.99 so thats not to bad. i saw them before but never really thought about getting one.I tryed it out today and it's so nice to just bend and dig your plug, hay and i even found two wheates. so if you don't mind carrying somthing in your other hand it's not to bad, or maybe sling it over your arm with a strap or somthing. but any way it's a new toy to play with. :detecting:

Sounds great. I might have to get one. I have had to drag a full size shovel with me the last couple of times I have gone out. The area I am hunting right now is a rough pasture. Moving rocks and downed trees to get to the targets. My and my nephew are finding rolls of wire, refrigerator doors, car doors, sheets of metal from who knows what, and just plain junk. We did everything. The neat stuff we keep, the junk goes on the scrap metal trailer. We are hunting an area that goes under water at least 3 times a year. I think that is why we find so much big stuff. Reason I don't like the full size shovel, is I keep getting the shovel in the way of the Coil. Then I set the shovel down and forget it. When I need it, it is 75 yds away at the last spot I used it.

I keep reading these posts saying use a digger, use a screw driver, NEVER use a shovel. I say :biteme: That may be true when you are digging in a park or a yard but I say dig out a car door buried in rocks with a screw driver then come see me.

Right on, jdstawker there comes a time when a man's gota do what a man's gota do. forget the long shovel get the mini and kick some A*#$%SS. HA HA. Art.......
