How good is the stock coil for the Safari???

Is the stock coil that comes equipped with the Safari a decent, good, all-round coil? I'm guessing that the large size of the coil itself means it must be terrible in trashy areas. Would this be correct?? What is the one coil you guys would purchase to keep significant depth while being able to operate smoothly in trashy areas???

If your using your Safari with all of it's settings and reading it properly the standard coil is very adequate. The Safari will let you know if it's trash below and will also ring true on a solid valid target. Smaller coils will work on the unit and if your happy changing out coils....

If used the standard cil from the start. The only issue I encountered is determining th pinpoint center. Have that down now and changing coils, rethreading the shaft is more trouble than its worth to me...

That's the same coil that comes with the E-Trac and the SE Pro and is very capable in any situation I have been in. That being said I also have the Sun-Ray X-5 and X-12 and they have their place and work very well on the Safari. If you learn the different sounds or tones you will be VERY sucessful with the Safari or any other machine. It just takes time to learn what a detector is telling you. But the Pro-Coil is deep seperates well and is the best all around coil that you will find. Minelab came up with a great combination along with their FBS technology with matching coils and machines. Start slow and learn those sounds and you will be glad you did. HH :minelab:
