How Good is The New White's Vision?

I don't own a White's machine but it's interesting reading that forum and following the same kind of rave and rant as when the E-Trac first came out. I am a Minelab person all the way, but it would be interesting to see how competent users of each machine might do side-by-side. Jim

there have been many people tell me that minelab makes the technology thats in whites detectors and they said minelab sells whites thier old technology dont know if its true or not but i called and asked minelab and they said it was true

I,ve been using metal detectors for 39 years now and have tried almost every brand,I mainly look for old coins and jewelry.I remember when teknetics came out with the coincomputer i think it was the 9000 model it had a lcd and it was accurate I could tell the differance between clad and silver and i found some deep coins with it,I remember finding a barber dime close to 10 inches deep with it, and I found a change purse from the 1800s that had silver dollars, halves and quarters and a half dime a nickle and some pennies and when i was ready to cover the hole i figured i better sweep the coil over it once more and it read 5 dollar gold piece!Well it was right! there was one at the bottom of the hole. That was one of the best sets I ever had.But since then I seen alot of machines and sometimes I wonder how much they improved,I,ve been using minelabs for 9 years had a sovereign and a xlt at the same time and the xlt had a good id but the minelab was deeper then i sold them and bought a xs and then a ex2 and i liked both machines now i bought a e-trac and as soon as i did whites comes out with the vision,So I was wondering which one is going to be best for old coins and I talked to a dealer that sells both and has used the vision and the e-trac and he said the minelab is still the deepest for old coins and the vision is a better gold detector.Time will tell.Boy these detectors are getting expensive!Hope I bought the right one.

I must say that it is a slick machine with all of the color displays and such but I think that your choice in detectors is a wise one. That Etrac is a baaaad boy!!!

I Had the chance to play with one indoors at our club meeting. I can tell that the tone id is no where as nice as the ET . It did air test rather well . really would like to play with it outside . Bottle caps sounded like coins But then again I didn't know how to adjust it. The coil looked like a minelab coil would love to give it an honest try but time will tell Not trying to start a fight But for the money a would buy an ET first HH RonC

I do like the tones on the explorers and the e-trac but I only had a chance to air test it and I had to send it back because the display was scratched I'll have a new one this week and I'll let you know what I think. One of my friends has a dfx and i don't like the tone id on it.He is buying a vision now and i'll get to try it and see how it does after i tweek it.He isn't very good with detector adjustments and usually uses presets.

I have read the contract some place on the net whites does lease some part of the minelab signal analysis technology. IL see if I can find that again.
