How good is the 6000 Pro XL?

Prospector

How does it compare to the newer digital XL and DFX as for depth and target I.D.? I have heard that it is really good on coins, but does it have enough depth to be good for relics and old home sites?

the 6000 pro xl,coupled with the 5.3 concentric coil is one of the "deadliest" coin shooters of all time!..the analog meter is "dead nuts" accurate on coins, and with the versatility of the all metal modes, especially the "s.a.t" mode is an excellent relic detector as well!..outrageous depth, and well balanced.

Best machine Whites ever produced. I've been using the 6000 series for over 20 years. In that time I've tried many different makes and models and haven't found anything that will beat the 6000 in depth, discrimination and target ID. in my ground. Nothing beats a good analog meter in separating trash from treasure. In some of the more mineralized parts of the country the Whites 5900 and 6000 are the preferred detector of many relic hunters. They excel on coins and relics in bad ground

you caught a nice break!..that's a 600.00 detector on e-bay!

[size=large]with 'M' meaning a manually ground balanced XL Pro like they had with the 5900 Di Pro SL.

It was simply a wish to see them bring back the excellent XL Pro, and also make a manually Ground Balanced model, perhaps named the MXL Pro.

Can you imagine having such an excellent concept model in your arsenal! :D I sure can. :detecting:

play two tickets and hope that one hits the lottery!..you have a better chance!..government regulations have all but eliminated "analog meters",and the profit margins on digital technology is higher...sadly the almighty "buck" wins again!
