how far can i let the battery's run down?

Until it quits working properly (short answer). I use recharge-ables and change the batteries each time one bar disappears. And I always carry a spare set too.

Does anyone think that lower battery bars/power makes for less performance? depth ? and all around performance in general?

I have been using only now atpro for 3 thin months 2 change battery, however when the first one votes ended batteries atpro I play continuous, and not possible to extinguish with pulsating so removed battery and end problem
happened back also 3 days equal problem, removed package batteries, you change and any problem left again as before, and also with batteries almost to 0 of position, function equal depth always
don't worry if understands any problem you do as I have done me
