How effective is the 1280x in Saltwater?

All depends on the area I would guess as all beaches differ. When I hunted N.J. beaches was one older fellow that used one all the time. I tried it and although it chattered... when you hit a target you knew it..Certainly one of the best freshwater units for years. As far as PI units they all differ a bit but work very well in saltwater however are basically all metal so be prepared to do a lot of digging..

redlance, i uses l280 all the time in the saltwater and on the beach, it is still a hot machine and as deep as any of my other detectors(cz20-xl pro-hh diver) i seem to find just a little more with it than my other detectors, expecially coins. it is one good machine, just turn it on, set the disc. at whats comfortable for you and go.
