how does your v3i do on a planted quarter at six inches ??? having a problem finding it with mine eny Ideas.

Add water and fertilize and you should do just fine

Actually you should find it easily.....if you raise your RX gain to about 9 and your Discriminate Sensitivity to around 90-92. Make sure you are properly ground balanced.

Of course this does not take into consideration the ground conditions.

It should show like a sore thumb. You haven't told us any thing about the settings or even in what part of the country you are planting this quarter.

My V3i sings on a 6" quarter with the 10"D2 and is also easy with the 6x10DD. Rob is right...it should show like a sore thumb. martin

Ok got it now. seems my 950 coil wont pick it up I guess the ground is to hot as far as minerals . But mt doubel d will pick it up.

I dont have a 950 coil for my v3i but i would think you can hit a 6" quarter with it. I can hit a 6" quarter with a 5" coil every sweep. Should be able to do it with any of the Library programs. You might try switching Filters and selecting the right one for your soil conditions.
Good Luck !!

I planted a clad quarter at 7" in my rocky Arizona red clay. Ground probe is -94. Ground is dry. D2 coil.

Coin and jewelry or coin programs - no signal.
Deep silver program - good signal and ID with coil maybe 2" above ground - but VID of 93!

I buried a gold mens wedding band (which gets a VID of 50 in air) instead of the quarter and got the same results -INCLUDING THE HIGH VID!!!

I don't understand the high VID part and so I checked with a Whites IDX Pro and it also got both targets with maybe 1" to spare, but a max reading on the VID screen.

Puzzling.
