How does the MXT do on the beach?

Here on Florida's beach it does very well, I hunt dry and wet sand. Even some water, but be careful, I only do this if there is no wave action, If you drop it or you get slam dunked by a unsuspecting wave it's over. A string attached will prevent it from falling all the way down, and I keep mine covered with a sandwich bag and storage bag taped around stem. You will have to re-ground balance when going from dry to wet. I have found by locking the track after doing the balance also helps. Going to wet sand or water may require to reduce sensitivity somewhat.
I use the 6X10 head which give a little better coverage and control. This is the machine I prefer for dry beach hunting, I know others will disagree, Ol-well whatever works for different folks is fine.

This is my second year with the mxt. I recently moved to Cape Cod mass and my house is just yards from the beach.
I have made several trips to the beach so far and each trip I find coins and some sort of jewelry, earrings, silver rings, no gold yet.
I used the mxt for land hunting where I lived before with great results. Long story short it paid for itself in less than a year.
Now I am finding beach hunting is a bit different than land, especially going from dry to wet sand. When doing this I find you have to pump the coil till it quites down or lower the gain. Also once you balance on either dry or wet sand it is best to detect on that area. In other words going from dry to wet means alot of ground balancing.
It is working great on the beach for me so far, and I am sure once I get over the "new" learning curve that I will have great results.
Hope to post some pics of good finds here over the summer.
Hh and good luck
