How does the Explorer 2 compare to X-Terra 70

Got a fella wanting to sell a little used Explorer 2 with a lot of Extras at a good price. Have been considering the X-Terra 70. Which in your opinion would be the better buy? About the same money at what he is offering.

You are wanting to compare apples and oranges......

The Explorer 2 is multi-freq. FBS technology. which will surpass that of VLF regardless of what you want to call it....
The menu's offer user a vast amount of options to tweak. But this could also cause confusion. The menu's also offer the ability to set the detector to meet your hunting requirement's(ie; tones, threshold tone, gain,) these can really help if you understand them.
Disadvantages: Weight and balance, Learning curve(depends on operator), Warranty(because you are buying used).

X-Terra X- 70 is to me a pro model of the X-Terra series. With many features that many fit your style of hunting be it Coin shooting and Prospecting, Or Beach hunting.
The features are very usable from the factory preset, to making subtle changes to achieve the desired settings for the area. It is a light weight swinger, that has it place.
Disadvantages: Too soon to make an accurate opinion(need many more hours)

This is only my opinion......

Indeed not made to replace the Explorer its lightweight technology was designed to give the public a user friendly, lightweight unit which is not expensive and fits more wallets and in its own right is a darn good unit..
