How do you post pictures?

I don't have any software on my computer that can downsize a picture to fit on the forum, so I've been trying to use Photobucket. I have managed to downsize them I think, but when I have uploaded from Photobucket, I don't know where the picture has gone. I can find the Original photo, but not the downsized one. Any help would be much appreciated.:surrender:

Yes bill. They are too big. They are 1600x1200. It would be really simple if I could download them directly, but alas, I can't. I'm trying to use the Photobucket website to resize them so that I can post. I think that I resized them alright, but when I uploaded them from that site, I don't know where they went.I assume that they must be on my hard drive somewhere, but I am unable to find them.Any advice would be welcome, even a different approach if you've got one.

Try This Free Program

I use this program to resize. It is a real small and simple program. Screenhunter 4.0 by Wisdom soft. On the link provided, scroll down to ScreenHunter 4 and download ScreenHunter 4.0 Free.

try using a lesser resolution on your camera. I used to have problems too. Set my camera to 600x800 and I don't need to down size. When saving pictures to upload to the web - save them to your desktop so you can find them easily.

Thanks heaps awhister. I have just downloaded that program. Hopefully I can now post pictures.
Thank you also khouse for the tips. I borrowed my sons camera to take the pics (as I don't own a digital myself yet) and didn't know you can change the resolution.

Use your scanner for regular pics. I've got a digital camera I haven't even used yet nor loaded the software for posting pics.

Scanners are great for flat stuff. Anything else that is not touching the glass will be blurry.

[attachment 40654 coins2.jpg]This is a picture of my finds from the hunt in Newcastle a few weeks back. Sorry if it is a bit hard to make out clearly.
Surrounding the picture is all my tools of trade, minus the bum bag that I use as a finds bag and spare batteries.

Thanks khouse. I'll see if this is a bit sharper.

I don't seem to be able to sharpen the picture. The actual photo is a lot sharper. This image is using 75.2 Kb and the next size is to big. I used HP photo imaging. If anybody could offer advice, it would be helpful.

what resolution setting is your camera on? Try 640 x 480 without any cropping or resizing. My pictures have been uploading at about 114 to 116 just under the 120kb maximum. Here is a picture of a non croped picture and it's pretty clear.

That is a very clear picture. I don't know what size I used, As I only just found out through this thread of posts that you can alter the size on the camera. I looked through my son's instruction manual last night and found that the smallest I can reduce a photo, is 130kb.
So unfortunately, it is too big.
At least now that I'm aware of it, perhaps if I increase the camera to it's highest resolution, this might help.

What is the make and model of your camera? I don't think that the highest resolution is going to help. There is also a digital imaging forum on this site where you might get some more help.

I have a fuji but i don't think it's the same but lets try this. Is there a button on the back with a "F" on it? If so turn the camera on and push it. It will take you to the resolution screen. There you need to highlight 640x480 and save it.
