I know the manual tells you to hold your coil 12" above the ground and use an up-n-down motion to within about 1". I believe it was Andy Sabisch's book on both the Safari and the Explorer who suggested you hold the coil above the ground at search level without raising or lowering it (if not in Andy's book, that was the suggested way by users of these two machines on the forms); I used this technique with both the Safari and still do with the SE Pro and it works well. How do you do it with the CTX; do you go by the book or do you hold it at detecting level?
Thanks,
