How do you keep track?

How do you keep track of your clad silver and wheat count from year to year? I'd like keep a closer tally on my stuff this year.

Do you have a smart phone? I downloaded a notebook app for mine, free. I make notes about promising places to hunt. When I do hunt there, I log under it what I found. Easy to go back and tally it all up.
Otherwise a simple pocket notebook works well.

Looks like you visit this site often. You could do what I(and others) do and tally your finds in your signiture box. As you can see still to cold for me, but its almost spring time!

OK, other than in the signature box,,I'started doing that on other forums,, but it gets old when you visit 6-8 forums and try to keep a tally on all of them..

I have a fishing tackle box to store my finds in for the season. I separate all the coins into their designated compartment. Wheat cents in one, dimes in another, silver coins in another, and so on. I fill the huge bottom of the box below the shelf with all the post Wheaty and post 1964 Canadian pennies. I have a piece of paper that I keep track of total number of coins, face value tally, and the number of silvers I find. When my season is over, usually the end of October, I go through the box and sort all the things I found. When I'm able to start hunting after the thaw in March/April, I start fresh with an empty tackle box, and blank sheet of paper.

I typically don't find huge numbers of coins. Some of you guys in populated areas would fill 10 of my tackle boxes every year!

I'm new... But my daughter makes jewelry out of beads so it gave me the idea to use one of her spare cases. It's like the tackle box but just one big tray with a lid and adjustable dividers. I just put my modern stuff in a jar. Like I said tho... I'm new some might not agree

I have used a large desk top calender for years ....its a quick reference to were i hunted and what i found any day or month of the year.I keep track of hours hunted, location, battery's,machine used, and coin totals. But when it comes to that,"special coin or jewelry find,"....You'll remember those forever!! HH GL

If you are looking for an easy way to track totals and such. You could use Microsoft Excel. By using the formulas it will add all totals for you. All you have to do is update the info when you find new coins. If you are not very confident with Excel, try typing your totals on a word document. Then you just copy and paste from there into your various sites. You will only have to update the one document each time instead of each site. Hope this helps. Good luck

IF YOUR GOOD ON HE PUTER ITS EASY TO MAKE A SPREAD SHEET WITH CATEGORY'S FOR EVERY KIND OF COIN AN IT TALLY EVERTHING FOR U JUST INTER IT IN AN THE SPREED SHEET WILL TALLY IT FOR U. IF YOUR NOT FIND A GALL THAT DOES BOOKKEEPING AN HAVE HER MAKE U ONE
