How do you clean a v nickle?

I went out to the same place I have been going to and finally, I found my first old coins!! I found a 1947 wheat, and a v nickle. I dont know how old the v nickle is because it is pretty dirty. Any suggestions on how to clean it?

Thats what I did, didnt help too much, but I am not sure anything will. It is really copper colored with a few tiny spots of its true look. Should I just continue to scub it hoping that it cleans better, or has the plating been worn off and it would only damage it more? I can see the date now, 1891.

ndhill1976, I assume you're joking, right? If not, and you thought I was joking:
