How do you attach your magnet in your scoop?

Going to break out the PI. I need to keep the tiny stuff from falling out of the scoop. I heard of magnets being used, but I was wondering how you attach them inside a non magnetic scoop.

I use dounut shape magnets and attach them with wire ties. But if you live where there is alot of black sand they are a curse.

I used a magnet from a hard drive and attached it with zip ties..

I don't use them personally but when i got my scoop(Nutall diamondhead)the previous owner had glued/epoxied them in but they didn't last long so i would suggest the neodym one with a hole in and screw them with small SS nut and bolt or cable ties

Screw/locknut, neo mag w/hole. Seen some just zip tied in place. They did usually have any magnetic items stuck to them. I got tired of the big black sand blobs, quit using them around here.

The absolute best epoxy glue is available at any boating/marine store. It's called "Marine Tech". Scuff up the part of the scoop where you'll mount the magnet, mix the epoxy according to instructions and stick it on. Mine's been in my Beach Brute for 3 years. Even though some of the welds have cracked on the scoop, the magnet hasn't budged. Word of caution: When the epoxy is mixed the chemical reaction creates heat and fumes.

How do you get rid of the magnetic black sand that collects on the magnets seeing there permanently attached or are you lucky enough not to have that problem ?

We have black sand by the bushel here. I try to remember to bring my scoop when I take my car to the high pressure wand type car wash. One blast to the magnet and I'm ready for a whole new deposit of black sand.

I assume the magnet is attached to the bottom and inside. Is this correct?
