Hey Jason. I wish I had the S-8. I do use the S-5 and think its incredible for its size. The S-5 is the coil I use most. HH. Matt
 
I find with this coil I don't need the 5 inch coil as it separates great and really goes deep. For bigger coil the S-12 cant be beat and feel that the S-8 and the S-12 are the only 2 coils you need as it will work in everyplace I have tried with no problems.
 
i have the s-8 on my excal and its great in the water
