i have talked with people on the beach and some say they send their xcal's for recalibration

If it ain't broke don't fix it. That being said mine would sometimes make a loud shrill sound like the battery was needing charged. The Ikelite connector to the battery had a small crack in it allowing water to seep in causing the problem ( I Think) so I sent mine in to get the connector fixed and anything else Minelab might find. The machine has never been dropped or abused in any way. Minelab suggested I send both batteries and machine to them which I did. The machine is almost 3yrs. old and never had any problems. I figured that is about as often as I go get checked out so why not. Minelab Customer care # is 888-949-6522 or 877-767-6522. Give them a call they refered me to a tech. very proffesional and promt. Answered all my questions right then. Not anything like has been posted in the past. Good luck. HH :minelab:

I am not going to keep kicking the same horse. But with these price increases it is nice to hear that customer support is better. If you want to market your product as a high end unit you need to have a high end support base.
