a couple of CB sets here. One I still use if on the road. The truckers are still the best source of info on the highways for good food and traffic. My first CB was a 1 channel Gonset. CB call letters were 1W7704. That was in 1955. I had built a rotatable dipole for 11 meters and ran it base out of the boat marina using the Atlantic Ocean as a ground and reflector. Use to talk a lot at night to and insomniac who called himself the Voice of Long Island. Ground wave there was around 28 miles as the crow flies. Made a lot of friends on CB, and a lot of us moved up to Ham Radio and stayed with that. One of the local CB guys ran the local Drivein Movie theater and he would let a bunch of us in towards the back to all hang out together. Good times for sure.
