How do I know what depth setting?

My GTA 500 ultra has a depth setting but I do not know how to use it. I've changed it and checked various targets but see no difference. How do I know I've got the best setting? The directions don't help much.
 
Another name for DEPTH, is sensitivity. So, what this mode allows you to do is to operate your machine with as much depth as possible, before it becomes too unstable. Somw soil conitions only allow you to run 3/4 of the max for sensitivity or less. if by chance you can run your 500 wide open, you are getting good depth and have pretty non-mineralized soil. But that is rare.
