How do I ground balance coinscanner pro 2?

Hello folks

I bought a coinscanner pro 2 on Ebay but it arrived without a manual, can anyone tell me how to ground balance it correctly,I just tried it out and it detected a clad coin but would not detect an old .925 silver coin, what am I doing wroung?

Does anyone know where I can download a manual for it on the internet?

Thanks in advance

James, I have the Gold Scanner Pro which has a 10 turn grond balance feature that is a little different than the Coin Scanner if I remember right but the procedure should be similar. Holding the coil at about waist high with the threshold set to where you hear a slight hum lower the coil to the ground if the threshold goes silent raise the coil, turn the GB knob clockwise a little, push and release the all metal pad and lower the coil again listening for a change again. Repeat these steps untill there is no change in the threshold as the coil is lowered to the ground. If in step one the threshold got louder when you lowered the coil you adjust the GB knob counter clockwise and follow the same steps. You want to set it where there s no change in the threshold as the coil is lowered to the ground. I set mine slightly positive. One note, on my Gold Scanner it's important to press and release the all metal pad between each adjustment of the GB knob while doing the ground balance procedure. I'm not good at explaining things so I hope I haven't confused you.

Thanks for the help!

For some strange reason the detector will not detect a silver or old pure copper coin at all,in fact when I put it into all metal the threshold will actually null over the coin!,this must be some sort of notch problem but I have tried all settingd of the notch and still no luck, anyone got any ideas what is wroung? it detects lower conductivity coins no problem,

Thanks for your help again!

#1.. Regardless of the make or model, you do NOT have to start with the coil waist high.

Adjust for a Threshold and then do the Ground Balance procedures going from about 8" down to about

Since I only stand 16 inches tall that would make 8 inches about right. Actually I should have said I hold it at waist high turn on the machine, set the threshold and then go through the GB procedure. Thanks!

Thanks Monte

Actually I should have said that the speaker is loose in the housing and as I was playing around with it it sounded on the silver for a few seconds but then it was gone again,I'm thinking now that the there is a fault and it may need repair.
