How do I clean clad coins in a tumbler?

How many coins can I clean at one time, what materials do I use for cleaning, and how long should I tumble the coins. I have a Lortone 3A (3 pound barrel) tumbler. Thanks in advance.

I clean modern coins in a tumbler(from Cabelas). I use aquarium gravel for the abrasive plus a couple drops of cheap dish soap and enough water to almost cover. It's best to separate cents, from other denominations. Do each denomination separately. It takes noe to two hours and they're fine. Dont do old or good quality coins,it'll decrease their value.

Jess,
I am sure many have a differnt ways of doing it. I find that using some aquarium gravel, water and a shot of Real Lemon juice( maybe about 1/8 of a cup) I get at Sams club for $5 for 3 quarts, but any grocery store will have it. I tumble the copper coins for about a hour and they look new. The clads I have to do a bit longer.
I do around 100-150 pennies at a time as i dont count them I just put in a couple of hand fulls.
I have built me a strainer to seperate the coins from the gavel and the gravel from the water with 2 plastic containers. Now I just put one container with the bigger holes into the one with the small holes and dump my coins and gravel into it and run water in it and pick up the one container and shake it so the coins will seperate from the gravel and water. The bucket on the bottom has hole in it so the water will seperate from the gravel. I then dump the coins on a old towel to air dry. works good and very easy to do.
