was just wondering what the deepest coin any of you have found with the pioneer 202.also
was wondering about fresh batteries "new batteries" vs batteries fixing to set off the low batt light?

With my 202, about the deepest I have retrieved a coin was between 6 and 8 inches. There's nothing like hot fresh batteries, but I have not noticed a significant loss in performance leading up to the low battery light coming on. In fact, on a couple of occasions I have continued sweeping the coil with the light on (for a short period of time) and have still retrieved coins. That's one of the reasons I like my 202...it is a coin magnet.

I've got AUD 50c coins at around 10" in beach sand. They are easily heard at that depth too. My unit is the T4 which I read is pretty much the same thing. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

Yeah...the T4 is basically the 202 without the LCD electronically. When I owned the 202, the deepest thing I found was a heavily corroded zinc penny at 8 inches...I think the corrosion leeched into the soil causing a "HALO" effect around the penny, making it easier to detect....Was the only penny I ever found below 5 inches.
