i got the ace 250 sport pack it came with a 9x12 coil how deep does it goes ..and what is it use for

Formon its going to depend how hot your ground is , I would say 8 to 10" on quarters, a sizeable piece of iron would be deeper, hope it helps.

How deep?? How long is a piece of string?
What do ya use it for?? For finding metal or ya can use it as a putter if you like

9 x 12 good all purpose and will find stuff from the surface to around 12 inches for coin size targets depending on ground conditions, elec interference, weather conditions, how well you can use the machine, Size of target, Shape of target, How it(target) is setting in the ground in relation to the coil,How fast/Slow your sweep speed is,How well the detector is ground balanced for the ground conditions, Whether you are hunting in Disc or All Metal mode, How much Disc you have dialed in., How good your hearing is, The type of headphones used, and on and on it goes.

Although that coil might get better depth then a smaller coil, it becomes more redundant as you hunt trashy places, as too many signals under the coil either mask the good signals or just making it very unstable. In places where there is less trash, it will get you a little more depth.

But it's greatest strength is covering a large area, like a football field in a lot less time then using a smaller coil. It also won't read most bottle caps like quarters, like the DD search coils do. It is a little easier to pinpoint also. It really is a great coil. When I got mine, I never used the stock coil again. It was either the 9x12 or the sniper coil.
