How deep to bury valuable for avoiding looters with detectors?

If you happen to not trust some neighbors and you live in a high crime area. How deep does one need to bury any metal valuables they do not want stolen from high tech looters carrying the best metal detectors? Any tips or tricks to fool metal detectors or can anything metal be discovered in reasonable depth with a high end detector?

You can't bury it deep enough or hide metal from a metal detector. We got some that can go many meters deep.

But you can take heart that in a high crime area people don't flash their high tech metal detectors around

3 ft if its a quart jar

Mike, I didnt mean to suggest an innercity gangbanger ghetto neighborbood. More so of hiding valuables from crafty hillbilly folk using meth or other drugs in the backwoods of the Pacific Northwest who may have detectors. Sounds like having a good guard dog is best.

Remember where you plant it,
Then seed the area with something like a few thousand 22cal lead pellets,
Lead buckshot (the larger size)
or something like that.
