How cold was it ? ...............

Waaaaay too cold for probably everyone on the forum except for Vernon in his Alaska days. Have to chuckle at how some of you cringe at -15 F. Mind though, that after some years here on balmy Vancouver Island, I would whine and complain too at -15F !

We were living in Inuvik,in Canada's Northwest Territories, north of most of Alaska, at the time. We decided to head on down to see Mickey Mouse and were near Knotsberry Farm. We had taken a city bus for some reason and the driver had to lay over for a bit to get back on his schedule. We were the only two passengers onboard; the driver knew we were a pair of Canucks and decided to chat.

First question of course was where are you folks from? Well,I tried to oblige, and think I kind of lost him about Seattle or thereabouts!. Next question was, how cold does it get? I couldn't resist being a wiseguy.(The LA temp was about 80F. and I knew back home it was about -45F) Well I says, today, it is about 125 degrees colder, than it is here today. So help me, that was the end of any further chit chat. I reckon that driver figured I was the biggest dang liar he had ever met !

Stay warm, hunt if you can. HH and GL

... it was so cold we had to chop up the piano for firewood, unfortunately we only got two chords.

and darn near froze 2 of my fingers :) I gave 2 speeches/presentations today and had 2 papers due this week. Today was a big relief. I was done school at 1500 so figured I'd brave the snow and get some R+R. Well it was nice to get out and I found some newer military items and ironically a silver plated snowflake pendant, but I definitely think detectings over for me until February or so.
