How can you tell if your coil is an 18.75 KHZ ?

Ordered the 18 but don't see any way to tell it from the one the detector came with. Same sticker on both. How can you tell? Thanks

Remember which serial number goes with which? The "M" will be the one it came with.

Add a nylon cable tie to the cord of one or the other?

Relics. That's a nice frequency (18.75) for brass and lead.

The X-50 offers users the option to select either the stock coil (7.5 khz and designated by the M in front of the serial number on the coil) or the high frequency (18 khz designated by the H in front of the serial number) . . . . the X-30 only offers the 7.5 khz option (see manual page 71, Features).

Since the coil communicates with the housing so that the appropriate adjustments can be made via software based on the coil selected and the X-50 was programmed to detect one of two frequency coils, a lower frequency coil would not work on the X-50 much the same way that you get an error message (CI) when trying to plug a HF coil into an X-30 housing.
