How 'bout a 3 detector cage match?

It would be very interesting to see how the F75 compares to an MXT and XTerra 70, both with the elliptical 10" DD coils. I'm thinking about picking up a detector for prospecting and all-round use (but a lot of prospecting) and, so far, it seems to be these 3 detectors that are in the running. I'm not so interested in the big stuff ( when the Pulse Devil finally is released it will leave all 3 in the dust) just the tiny stuff that a PI generally doesn't see. When i say tiny, I'm not talking 1/2 gram, I'm talking 1/2 grain. The garrett Infinium I had could see a 3 grain 'nugget', with the stock coil, at about 1".. so the sensitivity to large stuff is kinda moot. The MXT I had up in Alaska could gett down to 1/3 grain, with the 5x10" DD, at about 1/2". I wasn't able to test the X70 on anything smaller than 3 grains, so I can't really say how it would do. ..Willy.

You can think of the F75 as the MXT pushed a step further with the tradeoff that the user can come to point to overpower it. Since i tested the M6 vs the F75 and the MXT being the same design as the M6, the F75 is the better choice for the "formula one driver" who can bring the F75 to its limit without losing control. The F75 with its different processing and tone ID modes seems to be the better choice FOR ME.
MXT is a very good detector (we all now that) but the F75 allows you to push it more where you can.

X-Terra 70 is very good too, but doesn't have the speed of the F75. The 70 runs smoother than the F75. I can't compare them on depth righ now but i recall that i wasn't too impressed with the 5x10 DD coil with depth.

X-Terra has the advantage that you can change the frequency by changing the coil.

It comes down to preferences.
