How bad is the Gulf Spill for metal detecting in the Gulf area beaches?

I think those folks who detect on the beach for a living need to file a claim with BP !

You would think .....those idiots would be prepared for a problem like the one we have now!

Larry56,at this point BP will probably go bankrupt and the taxpayer's will have to makeup the difference.

TheOtherLeggoHead, can't believe Obama hasn't talked to BP.LOL is he scared of BP what a guy,at a news conference he's going to kick butt, very Presidential. This administration should be working to help clean this mess up not CYA or score points.Obama couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag.

Beale, politics aside would like to hear from someone in the area that detects in the gulf area.I didn't intend to make this a political question more about information and concerns.

Hey Ron,
I am in the Pensacola area and right now the worst has not got here just tar balls. The oil is expected to hit the beaches (Pensacola) this weekend. I plan on going and taking a look Sunday and doing a little detecting. I can and will post you some photo's afterwards.

some many years back now me and my grandma sent to golf shores alabama and it was so beutifull the sand was pure white and i would love to have get back thear and detect but now it will be full of tar it really is a tragedy , and destin florida as well

Ron,
The beach here at Pensacola (east end toward Destin) is BEAUTIFUL. No tar, no oil the sand is as white as snow. Bits of sea weed is all that is where the Family and myself were at.The water was blue and well I just can't say enough about how wonderful and beautiful it was. Got in about 15min of detecting to no avail but plenty of quality time with the family.
WISH I could do this every day!!!!

As per the news media and NOAA the Oil is going to be on the beaches here in Pensacola Wednesday, or sooner. I will post more photo's then I'm sure they won't look as good.
