How about this for depth ? Wading sanded in salt beaches.

5 of us this winter using different brands ran into the same conditions. (Too deep for conditions) Probably has happened to most of you who have hunted these conditions. So the machines I'm talking about were built by Whites, Minelab & Garrett.
Here's one happening. While wading, poking around trying to hit a hard bottom. I got a very weak signal with my Pulse Induction.
Standing on deep loose sand. Signal I was getting was too deep for a dime, so maybe a quarter, silver, probably rusty iron. No matter, when ever I got close, waves filled in my hole. Finally I had to give up. (I'm 69) Along comes this young pal (62) with his Vlf.
I asked him if he wanted to try this target. Sure. So after relocating it, took a scoop out, let him at it. Well he had to work, but he got it. In this situation, why him and not me? Youth, and a bucket for a scoop. Turned out just a rusty bolt. But in this target sparse area , well it was a experience.

I've given up on many a target when salt water wading, especially when I'm belly to mid chest deep. After 8 or 9 scoops Old Neptune can keep it...(I'm 68 )...

Some of the beach's I hunt are small and have multiple deep targets. My trick is to let that one go and check around the rim or where I dumped the digs for other good targets. Then just walk away figuring I'm still alive to dig another day.

You know Beech, had a time getting some coin in my scoop while wading a couple of times. Like you said found two more where I'd been dumping my scoop. Ill take it.

I wear a cap that says "1941 Model". I have on numerous occasion had targets in the wet that were so deep and the sand collapsed back into the hole so fast that i wore out before i got to the target. I always convince myself that it was a pair of sun glasses that would not stay in my scoop.
