Houston Club Scavenger hunt

The Houston cub puts on a detecting scavenger hunt about once a month. We meet up at 8am, pay the $5 entry fee, get the list of items to dig, then head out. Return at 2pm to tabulate the results. Almost everything one can imagine digging is on the list. From quantities of memorials, wheats, dimes, nickels, silver, pull tabs, bottle caps, nails, 'state' quarters, jewelry, tokens, etc.. The most in each category wins a silver half or quarter. This Sunday a young lady about 9 or 10 yrs old won most bottle caps with 84!!! Now that is neat! I got most silver with 3, most wheats with 16 and as no one dug a foreign coin I won the drawing for that. Its a great way to spent the day.

That's a cool idea! Wish we could do that down here but we no longer have a club...just not enough interest with the dry conditions we are having. I guess I shouldn't complain though...leaves a lot of stuff for me. :detecting:
