House burnt down in Paradise.. Searching for diamond rings and gold nuggets using a Whites MXT. What should my prospector settings be, where there is so much iron, aluminum, copper and gooey sheetrock?
 
You may end up having to use a screen sifter......... This is your property your speaking of ..right ??
I am so sorry for your loss... and so happy you have no loss of life in your family...

If the rings & nuggets were in the house, and the house was completely destroyed, then a metal detector is the wrong tool. There will simply be way too much other metal in the rubble, including nails, screws, copper wiring, pipe fittings, furniture hardware, etc. You will never be able to discriminate all this stuff out. Try to pinpoint the location of where things were, and hand sift the rubble.
