I'm just kidding as usual, of course I'm excited to find it. I wonder how it made it all the way from Carson City to a farm field in the Hudson Valley New York
I found one also (a seated 1876 cc dime, rare dbl rev variety) a while back in an old park in Orange County, NY. I was wondering the same thing, how did it get all the way there, especially considering the condition and that it must have been dropped not long after it was minted. If coins could only talk.
What is it with that 1876 cc coin, I found one in an old park on the Central Coast of California during the mid 1990's. That day I was using a Fisher CZ5 and it registered as a zinc penny. I started to go on without digging, but changed my mind and decided to clear it out so I wouldn't be bothered with it again. and dug it out at about 5". It made my day... nes
Altahama,
That's got to be one of the prettiest examples of that coin I have ever seen!! The only thing that would have made it better would be if I had found it!! 'Grats on a beauty~~!!!!!
