Hi Guys and Gals

What do you do with your Hot Wheels cars you find, is there a buyer you can turn me on too.? I have a whole big box of Hot Wheels and other assorted toys I have found at the beach, Also how do you tell the value so I do just give them away. Thanks Gene

I do know you want to check to see if any of them have red walls on the tires. They are called Redlines if you want to google it. They are extremely valueable. Even in poor shape. Most hot wheels have the dates on them. Anything pre 80's is valueable too. I did some research on them when I found my first bucket full too. I hope this helps.

I believe that is 3rd or 4th on the list of beach detecting curses. I have a bunch as well.

Look in your local Books a million store in the collectibles section, there is a field guide to hot wheels there. Some of these cars are valuable to collectors so don't discard them without some research first. Then if you don't have any kids in your family or friends I would suggest donating them to good will or the Salvation Army. I know I always lived playing with them when I was a little kid. Now I play with metal detectors as a big kid lol!

Thanks guys,
I'll will check it out, I dig to hard and deep for those little pouch fillers to just toss them. One day I dug 30 brand new ones in one hole, the kid must have buried them an forgot where. They were right next to a volleyball court in sand on the beach. There was also 4 big rubber dinosaurs with cars. I bet his parents were real upset.

I have dug dozens also and keep them in my trunk to give out to kids who follow me while I detect. Brings smiles to their faces!

I hear ya Chuck, last big box I gave to a kid who was at the beach during Christmas, he had a box on his skateboard that read toys for sale, Christmas fund. He had about 8 hot wheels at 25 cents to a dollar apiece, I told him come over to my van, I dumped about 90 hot wheels and assorted toys in his box, talk about jaw dropping to the ground, I thought he'd never quit hugging and thanking me, seen him later that day and he had sold over $20.00 worth. I ask him why he needed the money, he said he wanted to buy his little brother and sister a nice present for Christmas, brought tears to my eyes.

Wow Gene thanks for that priceless story. I to have my share an the last one I found was a batman car. I gave to a youngster and the dad said if I find the cat woman he would take her.. I said I'm sure you would.. Lol

Now I'm going to have to dig mine out and check for red lined wheels. I got a big signal one day at Coronado quite awhile back and started scooping. Before I was through, I had dug 26 little cars in one hole. I've always wondered why some kid would bury and leave his toy cars. ... nes

Treasure for the future. I know i buried some for the future. Found out years later. That the neighbor kids that did it with me dug theirs out and mine out. They only waited a couple days. They kept mine. Never told me till I asked one of them 15 years later. Don Mattingly rookie...GONE! LITTLE BASTARDS!
