Hot weather headphones. Anyone have any favorites? :detecting::help:

Anyone have a particular favorite pair of headphones for detecting in hot/humid weather? I'm looking for something that is durable, good sound quality, blocks out surrounding noise fairly well but still won't make my ears feel like they're spending the day in a sauna. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bose earbuds, and a Radio Shack stereo adapter. Works great, light and cool! - Terry

What is ....."hot weather" ?

I guess that would depend on what one is used to :). I've lived in South Florida and Michigan, so I am used to temperature extremes, but for me anything over 75-80 degrees means that my current headphones are going to be uncomfortable. When the temps get much over 80 I'm most likely going to limit my detecting to morning and evening.

Those Bose ear buds look interesting, but they don't strike me as being very durable. Considering how much they cost, I may be a bit leery about using them around brush/overgrowth.

When I got a new pair of Bose earbuds, I took my two-year-old pair, and started detecting with them. They are now 4-years old and still going strong! I have had them get caught in a Mesquite tree once, but didn't hurt 'em. - Terry

I found a pair of lightweight Koss headphones for warmer days. They were cheap and did'nt stand-up to my abuse very well. Decided I was better off waiting until it cooled off in the evening. I'm going to try night-hunting this year since the Explorer has a backlight. :super:

Sony Studio phones for $20 from Walmart. They are very comfortable but with smaller ear muffs then full sized headphones. The audio is real good on my GT so I use them year round.
