Anyone ever hunt in the nasty iron, hot dirt out there? How did the GB or G2 handle it???????.......MO

I'd like to hear this also, Anyone???

Before answering I'd like to ask a few questions?

What in particular are you hunting for, deep coins or relics?

Are you in the red clay areas of Virginia?

Do you hunt mostly old homesteads or older schools?

I would like to be able to attend one of the Diggin In Virginia organized hunts. I'm not sure what kind of soil is there. I've heard that only certain detectors work well there, and can't buy another just now.

Excellent question Mark & you're getting everything but an answer to the question. :)----I'd like to know to--how did the GB/G2 handle that dirt?

I had the gold bug here in Roanoke VA, with a ground reading currently reading 80 on the AT Pro it worked fine for me I was hunting coins with it. I varies parks. i don't know if this helps you or not.

At DIV XXII last month. It seemed to handle the hot rocks better than the Xterra 70. With 3,000 acres and 3 days, I just did not get enough targets under mu coil!! I was using the 5x10 and the FE meter was at max, but it ground balanced great with the fast grab and running all metal mode was real busy, so I just used disc at 35 like I usualy do at home. The Fisher/Tek machines worked well there, one guy I met had a F-75 and he found over 50 3 ringers the last day...............Mark

Morelic55,
I thank you for your answer. I hope to make that trip next year and it will be good knowing I can use the G2.
