Hot topic :hot: ...

I have been looking at fireplace poker sets (is that what you call them?). I wanted a nice set, unique... unfortunately, a set like that runs in excess of $100 and up. So I decided to make my own.

At a second hand store, I found an antique hall lamp. It was very old, and had a neat cut glass ball on it. I brought it home for $15, took the lamp shade off, and hack sawed off the electrical socket. Needing a crowning piece on it, I went back to another second hand store, and found this cool looking eagle on an early American lamp for $2.50. I brought that lamp home, dismantled it, hollowed out the eagle base a bit, and glued it on top of the other lamp base. I found a set of used fireplace pokers for $15, and voila... I have a one of a kind, absolutely too cool, fire poker set. When you're hot, you're hot!:hot:

Pam and I looked into buying a set of those when we first moved into our house. I could not believe how much they go for?? It's crazy, so we found a set at a yard sale for a couple of bucks and it pokes just as good as them 100 dollar ones......

Nice Job V.
