Hot soil? Target ID shift??

Well, hit a new site this morning, and the AT ground balanced at 93. Most locations around here are in the 80's. I did make sure I was ground balancing in a location with no metal in the ground. I noticed that all of the dime signals I dug were copper pennies. Normally copper pennies show up as pennies, and zinc shows up one notch under copper. Has anyone else had an issue such as this?
Thanks guys.
Darren

It is somewhat of a non-issue with me since I dig copper pennies anyway. It depends on how tired I am if I am willing to dig 4 inches for a zinc or not though :)

I agree, but in some of the areas I hunt, the ground is like a brick. I literally have to dig with a chisel, and going very deep for a zinc just stops being worth the effort after about an hour in 100 degree weather! Man, I wish it would rain around here!!

The areas I hunt range between 80's and 93 GB. and it does change the target id numbers from say a lower mineral to higher mineral ground.
Does same thing to my buddys MXT PRO.
