Hot Shot Coil Depth & Problems

Wondering what machine people are using the Hot Shot on and how they like it. What kind of depth improvement are you getting and what adjustments did you have to make with your machine's settings to use it? Several years ago I bought and tried two new Hot Shot coils on a QXT Pro but both would become unstable after about ten minutes of use despite lowering sensitivity and changing locations. I suspect it might have been something wrong with the machine I owned at the time because this coil is supposed to work with any of the machines that use the 9.5" loop. I now own a different QXT Pro and am wondering if anybody has used it on a Quantum with success? I'm considering trying another. If anybody has one for sale send me an EMail or PM.

I just bought a Hot Shot for my DFX less than 2 weeks ago and so far have only used it in my yard, I run a modified beach/jewelry program in 15khz, PAG 2 and AC sensitivity of 80. I managed to find a wheatie and some coins from the sixties. Also picked up a couple of small items that I thought this coil would miss. Depths were up to 8" but I'm sure if run a little hotter the max. depth could be increased a bit. I've read that this coil should be swept about 1/4" above the ground and not "scrubbed" across it like the standard coil to obtain maximum depth. I can't wait t try it in more productive sites! I have to mention that my yard is my proving ground and has been hammered hard with a standard coil and 1400 Eclipse along with many different programs including all metal. Anytime I can try something new and find things I have passed over, I can call it successful!
