Hot sauce coin cleaning

I have seen a couple times now that hot sauce can be used to clean clad. After trying many other processes including a homemade electrolsis setup I have to say hot sauce is my favorite way to clean coins now here is a before and after. I let theses quarters soak about an hour. I have one from 64 in their that needs a little more soak these were primarily newer. After an hour just take them out dry them of and wash them with dish soap and a hard sponge. Enjoy

I have tried hot sauce on old penny's and it works the same. If you leave them in too long it does turn them a sort of weird copper color. (little lighter color than normal). Someone told me to put them in baking soda after cleaning to return them to the normal color, but I never tried it.

I heard it also cleans nasal passages. I couldn't help myself.

Hey wanted to let you know that I had left some clad nickels in the sauce and forgot bout them for 2 days and when I saw them I had to chisel them out of the hot sauce. After gagging and covering my nose I realized that you can leave them in to long they look horrible like they had been sandblasted!! So I would say an hour soaking and then a soapy scrubbing works best.
