"HOT" Rocks

POLEWAGGER

New member
Went up in the hills to prospect a large creek which has historically produced small amounts of gold.
Working in all metal mode, I came up with 2 bobby pins, a copper penny, a fishing weight and a very small piece of steel.
Also found these two hot rocks (chunks of natural iron) which hit hard all the way to the end of the dial, in disc mode.
Anyone else ever found these?
So pure, it can be suspended by a small magnet.

There is a park that i know of on the Washington coast where those pieces of Iron rock
Are all over.
My tesoro could Disc them out but a Garrett we were using could not and they sounded off
like coins.
and pretty much rendered the Detector un usable at this place.

Aren't those meteorites? Look heavy and cool. You've got to check their value. Make sure you've got the location where you've found them in. Great find.

Hey, that name sounds familiar!
Did we meet on the point at Seward this last spring?
If so, that was the day I found my first silver dime with the Cibola.

I dont believe we met.
I live in southwest washington and do most of my hunting out on the coast
with a few local parks thrown in.
We have some strange ground in this state that is for sure.
