Hot Rock Disaster!

Yesterday both Darrell and Nimrod told me to SLOW WAY DOWN!!!
So today I did. But I ran into a problem.
I got what I thought was a definite silver signal. It sounded exactly like silver and looked like silver on the meter. But it was nearly all the way down on the depth gauge.
So I dug and dug and dug. I couldn't find any coin but what surprised me was that both the X-1 probe and detector picked out this rock that measures about an inch by an inch as being the culprit of being supposedly silver.
How on earth can I keep this from happenning again?
Man, I dug down to China to get that and it turns out to be a rock! I don't want this to happen too much or my poor wrist will give out!

Ht rocks generallly have a much higher tone than coins, and read so far off the top right that the cursre almost gone.. havent seen any coins that read that far up yet.. For the most part the hot rocks will sound washed out and sound off over a larger area then a coin does.. if you switch t digital on them they will read higher than coins do as well.. I guess there will be some that fool you, but better to dig and sheck them out than leave them behind.. another thing about hot rocks is they seldom can be located in pinpoint.. wuite a fdew clues to tell you its not a coin

It may not be a "hot rock"
If you get a signal 6" or more from it it may have metal content in which case it would not be a hot rock.

I use conduct and if you do get one of those Stones!! it comes up on the top right but with a low tone you can tell them a mile off and if I am getting them I know my sens is too high.
