I had today off, so I got up early and pretty well hunted all day until supper, to make up for yesterdays bad weather. I was hunting an area where the druggies hang out, and found an 1899 silver quarter. I did the happy dance for a while, then continued my search. All in all, I had a pretty decent day getting old Canadian and US coins.

Here's a pic of the oldest coins......

Edmonton used to have many coal mines throughout our river valley. I am guessing that I got a tag for one of the miners. The guy never returned it to his board and was probably reported missing. The black dirt also gave up a cheap ring too.

Another good find due to some blind hogs luck!

Cool, great job!!!

Looks like you had a great day. I think your right , sure does look like a miners tag.

Congratulation on the old quarter and other finds. Oldest coin for me this year is a 1918 Canadian penny.:clapping:

That ain't just blind luck, that's good hunting! Love that old quarter, love that old Canuck penny. Great stuff.

Man you find a lot of silver coins. You have be be the only serious detector in your parts. Real cool quarter and cents. The wheat cents you find are also in such great shape. Always interesting.

Nice finds bud. In my Canadian coin collection I have a 1921 Canadian cent in almost mint condition. Have you found any that old?

Bill

Congrats for the silver John. I really like the miner tag too.
